Experimenting with Acrylics

29th November 2007 in Workshop, Leave a comment  Share This

Vivi I went for the art workshop hosted by Delphine Bernard and organized by Bar Que Pasa and had an enjoyable time experimenting with acrylic paints. Here are 3 of the paintings I did on the evening. They are all painted on regular A4 paper.

Arson
Arson
I picture a Japanese woman trapped in a sea of smoke but her look of indifference tells us she was the one who set the fire, perhaps for suicide. Japan has very high suicide rates.
Painted with hands and fingers and red splatters with a toothbrush.

Woods
Woods
Woods of trees with strange-looking branches, almost waiting in ambush for any prey to come into their terrible branches’ range.
White lines created by scraping paint off with palette knifes.

Daydream
Daydream
A sweet and girlish dream.
Lots of water used to soften acrylic. Washed out color gives a blurred and dreamy effect which is very unlike acrylic.
