2 Nominations, Ping.sg 1st Anniversary Blog Awards for “Best Blog Design”

Community Meta Blog for Singaporean bloggers, Ping.sg is almost a year old and is presenting a few awards to it’s members as part of its celebrations on 070707 (7th July 2007). I managed to get 2 humble nominations both for the “Best Blog Design” category for AEN DIRECT and Design Sojourn, which I made for Mr Brian Ling, Design Manager @ Nakamichi Singapore and winner of the renowned Reddot Design Awards and CES Innovation Awards.

I Present To You… AEN DIRECT V2!

VER2.0

After 2 months from my last announcement about V2, it is finally finished.

AEN DIRECT now runs on WordPress 2.2 “Getz”, the latest version and spots a new theme design. The code is now much cleaner and optimized for fast loading. The number of Javascript called is also reduced and their functionalities replaced by better alternatives or removed if it is unnecessary. Existing CSS and Javascript are compressed with Icey > CSS Compressor and JS Min respectively to bring down the overall document size.

Shopping for a new portable media player

Just got my new portable media player with Vivi from Sim Lim Square yesterday. It is the latest 2nd Generation iPod Nano 2GB. I absolutely love it!

New Web Design Gallery from Japan

There are already lots of web design galleries online for CSS/Standards-based sites, flash sites, ugly sites but what I have come across today was quite different. I just like it. Maybe it’s the way the previews are displayed, nice and big thumbnails and minimum text. Most importantly, the designs showcase are more worth checking out then most of the galleries out there. They also have separate sections for local and international designs. So if you are a sucker for Japanese web design, you should check this one out.
