Upgraded to WordPress 2.3 Dexter
AEN DIRECT has been successfully upgraded to the latest WordPress 2.3 Dexter. The whole process was quite smooth except for some plugin compatibility issues.
Plugins such as Ultimate Tag Warrior and Google Sitemap Generator was incompatible with WP2.3 and I had them disabled initially. Google Sitemap Generator was eventually upgraded from 3.0b6 to 3.0 stable and UTW was removed and tags were imported into Wordpress’s native tagging system (You can access the handy importer by goign to Manage > Import and choosing UTW from there).
I also took some time to clean up my HTML code a bit and removed some minor kinks which caused the pages to not validate. Prior to the upgrade, I have also changed my site title to AEN from AEN DIRECT, although the domain is still the same. I am doing this because i want to be known as a person more than as a company. No corporate clichés for me. I will eventually change my domain and business name also.
I like every new version of WordPress. It just gets better.
